Hello Curlista,

Knowing your porosity allows you to know which types of products are best for you. What are the products to avoid and this will answer the questions you ask yourself: Why is my hair always too dry?
Cider Vinegar = Acid PH which is close to the natural PH of the hair.
Low porosity = The scales are closed, it is difficult to moisturize our hair because the natural scales of the hair dam bottom.
What should be done in this case?
Use heat to make your treatment penetrate. Heated helmet, satin bonnet, scarf.
To avoid :
High porosity = The hair absorbs a lot of water.
Utilize :
Apple cider vinegar to close the scales.
Promote protein care
The aloe vera.
To avoid :
Heating devices
Namely: The shampoo opens the scales to wash the hair thoroughly.
the pH of the shampoo is Alkaline, which promotes the opening of the hair scales.
Use a conditioner that will close the scales (hair cuticles).
Les pellicules sèches sont celles les plus couramment rencontrées.
Elles sont petites, légères, blanches et apparaissent sur des cheveux ou un cuir chevelu secs.
On les retrouve le plus souvent en aspect floconneux sur les épaules.
Dry dandruff is the most commonly encountered.
They are small, light, white and appear on dry hair or scalp.
They are most often found in a flaky appearance on the shoulders.

Choose a vegetable oil such as Argan, Jojoba or Sweet Almond, Prickly Pear, then brush your hair while massaging: the oil will deeply nourish the epidermis. Then wrap a bath towel around your head. Leave on for 20 minutes, then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.
Essential oils, vegetable oils can treat dandruff conditions gently and over time. We will use purifying essential oils such as those of Tea tree , Noble laurel , Palmarosa or Atlas cedar to purify the scalp. They can be used diluted in a shampoo or as a massage on the scalp, diluted in purifying and soothing vegetable oils ( Nigella , Chaulmoogra , Laurel berries , Cranberry ).
Choose purifying but also moisturizing shampoos, for example:
Shaeri Detox Scrub .
Composed of Lemon essential oil, it invigorates and softens the scalp, reduces scales and dry dandruff during shampooing.
Aloe Vera pulp, rich in vitamins A, B6 and B9, boosts the micro-circulation of the scalp.
Prickly pear vegetable oil hydrates and regenerates dry, curly and frizzy hair, prevents split ends.
To do this, nothing could be simpler: just mix the white clay with lukewarm water until you obtain a smooth paste, then apply it to the roots, massaging the scalp for a few seconds, and lay on the lengths using a fine comb. Then leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with clear water. And a little tip for ultra-shiny hair: add a few drops of vinegar to the rinse water.
In order to keep your lengths hydrated, it is best to use a conditioner afterwards that will further hydrate your lengths.
Carol's Daughter conditioner is ideal for regulating sebum and deeply nourishing your locks.

Hello Curlistas / Curlistos!
Here are some tips that will help you reduce frizz as much as possible and understand why you have it.
Hair that curls for no reason is a sign of dehydration of the hair fiber. All it takes is for the air to be a little humid for the water in the atmosphere to cling to the dry cuticle, lifting it up and giving it those frizzies.
It all comes from the scales of your hair, which you can't see with the naked eye: Smooth, tightly closed scales ensure well-defined, shiny curls. (little porous hair). Conversely, open scales cause coarse hair with frizz. (porous hair).
Although frizz is part of the nature of our dry hair, it is possible to reduce it but not to eliminate it.
It starts at bedtime: use a satin pillowcase to prevent frizz from forming overnight. Indeed your hair will not cling but will slide on it.
Although we can't be perfect, here's what to avoid so your hair doesn't get too frizzy:
- Discolorations which make our hair more fragile and therefore porous: open scales which cause the hair to swell on contact with air, humidity, etc.
- The heat of the hair dryer : you have seen it yourself, when you dry your curls with a hair dryer they tend to create frizz. The use of a low temperature diffuser is preferable.
- Dry brushing them for no reason: Curly, curly, frizzy hair does not style like smooth hair. If you want to detangle them, do it in the shower after applying a mask or conditioner.
Ideal for reducing frizz and defining your curls. Without rinsing, it moisturizes, nourishes and keeps your curls supple and shiny for longer.
It is a treatment based on humectants, hydrating, nourishing, repairing, detangling and restructuring agents.
It is suitable for all types of textured hair (wavy, curly, curly, frizzy).
Composition :
Aloe Vera, Honey, Glycerin, Seaweed, Cocoa Butter, Cupuaçu Butter, Green Tea, Castor, Soy and Provitamin B5.
Hibiscus Jelly will work on all the curls, to shape them, redefine them or flatten the hair.
This gel consists of Aloe Vera and an infusion of hibiscus flower oil and powder. It will be an excellent styling and care product. Your hair will be kept hydrated thanks to the agave and glycerin that make up this gel.
On my return to France, I realized that it was a real obstacle course to find quality and effective products suitable for curly hair.
]]>Hello Curlista/to!
I am Katia, the founder of PopMyCurls Paris. I'm glad to see that you're taking the time to learn a little more about the concept.
My biggest problem when I came back from New York in 2017 (where I had the chance to have spent 5 wonderful years there) was to find effective products adapted to my curly hair while following the Curly hair Method that I had learned in New York outside I could not find any product that suited me in the corner stores, I was always wasting my time doing research online to make my orders on several sites.
The Box concept, which I already knew from the USA, seemed to me to be the ideal solution to fill this gap, especially during the confinement in February 2020 when everything was closed.
So I started my research because I wanted the composition of the products I was going to offer and the quality to be optimal, I also wanted to know more about the problems of other Curlys to serve them better.
So I contacted brands in France and all over the world to test and validate the products that were going to make up my 1st Boxes. I then contacted my Curly friends to get their opinion.
Thanks to an Ulule campaign, I was able to raise funds to start the adventure and thus create my 1st PopMyCurls Box for adults, children and babies.
People from all over France, Belgium, overseas territories believed in the project and helped me get started. Many thanks, if you are part of it!
What I love about the PopMyCurls Boxes is being able to enhance the hair of thousands of people from all over the world, borders no longer exist online and giving them the tools to finally assume what nature offered them, their beautiful curls!
The Box concept also allows you to have fun and pamper yourself every 2 months, it's a gift we give ourselves and which does us good!
The economy by subscribing is not negligible. Instead of paying for a complete routine at more than 100 euros, you only paid 49.90€ every 2 months.
The Box/Kit PopMyCurls allow you to build your hair routine with ease, while discovering new brands. The Boxes are customizable which makes all the difference with the other Boxes available on the market.
Of course, the routines are suitable for women and men, some products can also be used on children, although Boxes for children exist.

]]> Just like your body, which needs to be hydrated regularly, your hair needs to drink to keep its shape (or the curl ;-)).
Indeed, your curls will be better defined and plumped thanks to good hydration. Your hair will also be shinier.
A dehydrated hair is a hair that often has a high porosity, ie which has the scales open and which therefore has difficulty retaining water. It tends to be very sensitive to humid air (it swells, has a frothy effect).
Undernourished hair is often associated with a scalp that is a little reluctant to produce sebum, which is normally there to nourish the length.
When there is a deficiency in nutrition, it is often the heart of the hair that is weakened, hence the problems of weakened hair, therefore brittle and split ends.
By nourishing your hair, you make it stronger and therefore less brittle and thus reduce split ends.
To feed :
Vegetable oils (Castor, Avocado, Argan Coconut, Olive, Sweet Almond, etc.) and vegetable butters (Shea, for example) are nourishing natural active ingredients.
To Hydrate :
Aloe Vera is a natural moisturizing active ingredient.
Linseed Gel is a natural moisturizing active ingredient.
vegetable glycerin,
Floral waters
SHAERI natural moisturizing, nourishing and regenerating shampoo for dry, curly and frizzy hair, with organic prickly pear seed oil and avocado oil.
KALIA NATURE Sapote Oil Conditioner which will intensely moisturize and nourish the hair while fortifying it. Sapote oil will allow the stimulation of the scalp therefore the growth, it will allow the hair to regenerate.
KALIA NATURE 's Hibiscus Cream is a nourishing and moisturizing treatment. Its creamy appearance will allow gentle detangling of frizzy to curly hair.
To avoid hair dehydration, you can use LES SECRET DE LOLY 's hair jelly boost curl , which is mainly made of water. This advantage allows it to provide your curls with the necessary hydration until your next shampoo. Your curls are defined and strong without being weighed down.
The CENTIFOLIA organic leave-in detangling & moisturizing lotion detangles and brings shine and suppleness to the hair.
Its main assets:
- Raspberry vinegar, obtained from organic raspberries, which contributes to bringing suppleness and shine to the hair.
- Organic Aloe vera juice known for its moisturizing properties.
- Lactic acid, used for its very good affinity with the hair, gives it shine.
Good hair routine!

As Curlista, we need to adjust our hair routine in order to cope with the change in temperature, reduce frizz and thus keep our beautiful curls healthy all season long.
]]>As Curlista, we need to adjust our hair routine in order to cope with the change in temperature, reduce frizz and thus keep our beautiful curls healthy all season long.
During this season your curls are more likely to be dry due to the change in temperature, take this opportunity to maintain your length and focus on growing your hair (if that's one of your goals).
I like to create a mixture with olive oil, 2 drops of peppermint essential oil (prohibited for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children) coconut and castor oil and warm it for 30 60 seconds in the microwave. Then, massage it directly onto your scalp.
I do this for 5-10 minutes and then continue with my washing routine.
If you have thick hair, choose Coconut/Prickly Pear oil for your mixtures.
If you have finer hair, virgin coconut oil will do the trick.
The ends of your curls are usually exposed to all the nasty elements during the colder months. If you notice that the ends are starting to split or seem a bit dry, now is the time to cut at least 2 cm "leave to better come back" :-)
If you live in the Paris region, I advise you to make an appointment with a hairdresser specializing in textured hair like Anissa at Salon HairStudioByAnissa .
Shampoos that contain sodium laureth sulfate are also loaded with silicones, an explosive combination that destroys hair. fibrany Silicones serve as a shiny sheath and hide the harmful effects of sulphates which, in the long term, suffocate and make the hair split.
If you start your transition and opt for a shampoo without sulfates (and without silicones at the same time), you may find that your hair looks less beautiful than before. More rebellious, flatter, oilier, less shiny… For the first few days, the quality of your hair may be visually impaired. Patience ! Accustomed to undergoing a lot of modifications, your hair must take its marks and let itself be tamed by the gentle composition of your gentle PROPOLIA shampoo, for example, received in your Pop My Curls Paris box.
These masks are often called "restructuring", "repairing" or simply "protein" masks.
Hair that is bleached, limp/thin, brittle, damaged by excess heat or sun will benefit from protein-based products. Soy, silk, oat or wheat proteins can come to the rescue of damaged and brittle hair. Their proteins help to fill the gaps in the surface of the fiber, to coat the hair in a protective film and to smooth the cuticle.
"The hair fiber is mainly composed of a protein called keratin which gives it its strength and structure.
Proteins have the ability to attract and retain water molecules; which makes it an excellent humectant"
Attention, it is recommended to do a deep moisturizing treatment once a week, protein treatments can only be done once a month or even every 6 weeks.
Do not hesitate to experiment, there is no exact science and all curls are different, it is by testing that you will know what suits your hair best.
Curly and frizzy hair fans of home care especially love the following protein ingredients (ranked by popularity):
1/ Eggs/mayonnaise
2/ Yogurt (especially Greek) / fresh cream
3/ Coconut milk
4/ The lawyer
5/ The banana
6/ Gelatin
